🐾 MEET DENNIS 🐾

Dennis’s story isn’t an easy one.

He was bred by a backyard breeder, and the result was devastating for him physically. Dennis suffers from severe bilateral hip dysplasia, and while still young, he already endured major surgery — an FHO (femoral head ostectomy).

But surgery alone wasn’t enough.

After the procedure, Dennis never received the proper crate rest or physical therapy he needed to heal. Somewhere along the way, he was passed from person to person until he finally landed with people who cared enough to ask questions and fight for answers.

When we contacted MedVet and finally obtained his records through our veterinarian, pieces of his story started coming together.

And then something beautiful happened.

One of the MedVet staff members recognized his name immediately.

She had cared for Dennis before. She had worried about him. She was heartbroken when he never returned for follow-up care.

When she heard we were trying to help him, she offered to foster him.

The moment Dennis saw her again, everything changed.

He lit up.

He rushed to her, licking her face and leaning into her like he’d found someone safe again. You could see instantly that he remembered her kindness. Honestly… I couldn’t stop watching long enough to even take a picture.

That’s Dennis.

After neglect, pain, instability, and being failed by humans over and over again… he still trusts. He still loves. He still chooses joy.

Now he’s finally where he belongs:
safe, loved, and surrounded by people who won’t give up on him.

And honestly?

We think his foster may already be his forever person ❤️
